NEXTWAVE / Multi-building connectivity
Multi-building internet & network installation.
Connect offices, workshops, barns, annexes and other buildings as one planned network. We assess the internet entry point, routes between buildings and the Wi-Fi or wired connections needed at each destination.
Tell us about your propertyIllustrative topology. Each building link may use fibre, Cat6 within specification or a surveyed wireless bridge.
A good place to start
Is this your kind of project?
- 01
Several buildings need reliable access to the same internet connection or wider network
- 02
Ordinary mesh or range extenders are not suitable for the distances or building layout
- 03
The site needs a planned combination of building links, local Wi-Fi and wired connections
01 / The approach
Treat the whole site as one network.
A multi-building project starts with the internet entry point, the buildings that need service and what has to work in each location. We map those requirements before deciding how each part of the site should connect.
The result may use more than one technology. A main building can hold the core network while fibre, point-to-point wireless links or suitable cabling extend connectivity to other buildings. Local switches and Wi-Fi then serve the devices at each destination.
02 / In practice
Choose the right link for each building.
There is no single best way to connect every building. Fibre can be a strong option for permanent high-capacity links and electrical separation between structures. A wireless bridge can avoid disruptive trenching when there is a suitable path. Copper cabling may be appropriate for shorter protected routes where the installation conditions support it.
We assess distance, route, mounting positions, access, power and the service required at the far end before specifying the connection.
Compare wireless bridge installation where digging would be disruptive with Cat6 and fibre routes where a permanent cable is practical. For individual destinations, our outbuilding internet service explains the local network considerations.

Fibre, Cat6 or wireless links assessed route by route
- 02
Switching and Wi-Fi planned at the destination, not just the link itself
- 03
Future buildings, spare capacity and resilience considered where useful
03 / The approach
Build a useful network at each destination.
Getting a link to another building is only part of the job. The destination may need Wi-Fi, wired outlets, a switch, CCTV connectivity or a separate network for staff, guests or operational equipment.
We make the onward network part of the same written scope so the project is designed around what people need to do in each building rather than simply proving that the buildings can see each other.
04 / The approach
Plan resilience and future changes from the start.
Larger sites often evolve. New buildings, cameras, gates, offices or internet services can change what the network has to support. Where it is proportionate, the design can allow spare ports, capacity for additional access points or a second internet service for failover.

How your project worksBefore you enquire
A few useful
answers.
No. Clear line of sight is relevant to a wireless bridge, but fibre or a suitable cabled route may connect buildings without it. We assess the route before recommending the technology.
It can often be distributed across a private site when the network is designed for it and the underlying service terms allow the intended use. The incoming service and the property network are assessed together.
Not automatically. Fibre can be an excellent permanent link, while a wireless bridge can be practical where trenching is difficult and the radio path is suitable. The right choice depends on the site, required capacity, access and disruption.
Compatible systems can be included within the agreed design. Depending on the site, separate logical networks or dedicated links may be appropriate for security, operations or guest access.
