NEXTWAVE / Estates

Estate Wi-Fi & multi-building networks.

Main houses, annexes, workshops and grounds have different needs. We plan how the buildings connect to each other and where internet and Wi-Fi are required across the estate.

01 / The approach

Plan the estate around its buildings and users.

The main house, guest annexe and workshop may share an incoming internet service while needing different coverage and access. We identify the main equipment location, who uses each building and the tasks the connection must support.

A site plan or aerial view helps show possible routes. Useful details include existing ducts, distances along accessible routes, power at each building and areas where digging or visible equipment would be difficult.

Our multi-building connectivity service brings the main house, accommodation and working buildings into one site plan.

Illustrative layout, not a completed project or a coverage map. Link types, power and each route are assessed separately.

02 / The approach

Choose a route and finish for each building.

A wider estate may combine Cat6 and fibre network cabling with wireless links. Existing ducts and accessible routes can reduce disruption; trees, exposed paths and separate buildings can change which connection is appropriate.

Each destination also needs its own Wi-Fi coverage plan. Coverage inside a stone building and selected coverage in the grounds require different equipment positions and checks; a link to the building alone does not provide both.

We discuss visible mounting points, cable entries, access restrictions and permissions before confirming the scope. Where protected buildings or restricted works are involved, the relevant permissions and any specialist input must be resolved rather than assumed.

03 / The approach

Define private, staff and guest access.

Identify which users need only internet access and which need shared printers, systems or other buildings. Separate network rules can keep guest use apart from private or working areas when the equipment and configuration are included in the design.

For example, guests in an annexe may need internet without access to the household network, while staff need agreed working resources. Different Wi-Fi names alone do not establish that separation; the intended access is specified and checked.

04 / The approach

Stage the work around clear acceptance points.

If the main house and office are the first priority, the design can identify later routes to workshops or accommodation without treating them as already installed. Each agreed stage should state its equipment, dependencies and the areas to be checked.

Before you enquire

A few useful
answers.

Tell us which buildings are priorities. We can discuss an order of work and explain how the proposed stages fit the wider design.

That can be included in the assessment. Tell us who uses each area and what needs to remain separate so we can plan suitable arrangements.
